Learning takes place (: happens/occurs) everywhere (: here and there) and

is not limited (: restricted) to the classroom.

In recent years, educational reform has been a hot topic.

Traditional education focuses on acquiring knowledge and taking examinations.

For professional needs or out of personal interest, we can gain knowledge and experience through lifelong learning.

School education is not only about gaining knowledge,

but also about developing students'  critical thinking.

In other words (: That is to say), school courses and activities should focus on teaching students how to process (處理) knowledge.

Traditionally, people think that the purpose of receiving an education is to get (: gain/obtain) a degree.

However, more and more people will make use of their life-long learning to develop skills in order to meet (: reach/live up to/satisfy) their professional needs.
