Title (題目; 標題):
Time ______ (Manage/Manager/Management): Time to Get _____ (Organize/Organized/Organization)
Warm Up
It's (: It is) Monday Morning, ____ (and/or/so/yet) you're (: you are) going (: about) ____(to/x) have a busy few days! You have to (: You must) _____ (complete/compete) all of these tasks before the end of Wednesday. However, you can only (: exclusively; nothing more than; nothing but; merely; simply; just) ______(compete/finish) these tasks after school, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. How would (: could 表示客氣的語氣) organize these tasks (: jobs=> missions=> errands)?
p. 22
Time management ____ (mean/meant/means) making the best use of your time (最妥善利用時間). You ___ (organ/organizing/organized/organize) your work to get as ____ (many/much) done as ___(you/possible) can. If you ____ (don't/didn't/won't/wouldn't) manage your time well, you might (放在現在式; 可能性比 might 低) not ____ (compete/finish) everything. It's (: It is) also ____ (likely/lively/vivid) that you won't (: will not) do a great job on (在任務上表現很好) tasks you do (確實; 的確; 助動詞表示肯定). What's (: What is) ____ (more/less/worse/better), you'll (: you will) feel ____ (stress/stressed/stressing) out and think that ___ (your/you) life is ____(lose/out of) control. On the other hand, if you manage your time well, you'll (: you will) ____ (be able to/can) have enough time to deal with or spare some downtime to handle (: fit in) as well (: ..., too). You'll (: You will) also feel ___ (good/well/better) because you accomplished (: carried out/finished/completed/attained/achieved) many (: a great number of) things (: tasks).
Here are some tips:
=> Some tips are here.
=> Some good pieces of advice are here.
=> Here are some good pieces of advice.
=> Here are some suggestions for you.
1. Prioritize Well
=> Prior (adj.)
=> Priority (n.)
=> Prioritize (v.)
2. Set Time Limits
3. Make a Plan
4. Omit Non-essential Activities
1. Prioritize Well
=> Prior (adj.)
=> Priority (n.)
=> Prioritize (v.)
Decide ____ (which/that) tasks are the most important. Make sure (that) you schedule (: organize) enough (: sufficient) time to finish (: complete/carry out/accomplish/attain/achieve) them. It's (: It is) often a good idea (: notion/concept) to do these tasks first. For example (: For instance), if some homework is due (到期的) on Tuesday, you must (: have to) do it by Monday (在星期一之前) at the latest (最遲; 最晚)! On the other hand, ____ (clean/to clean) your room can wait. Put it ____ (of/off) until after your homework is ____ (do/did/done/doing), or maybe later in the week.
2. Set Time Limits
____ (Work out/Work on/Counting) how long each task will take. If you're not sure, (you) ____(set off/set aside/set out) a specific (: certain) ____ (account/amount) of time to ____ (work out/work up/work on) that task. You can ____ (take/give) breaks, but set time limits for breaks, too.
One good way to do this is to use the Pomodoro Technique ( an image of a 25-minute task and a 5-minute break plus 4 times and a 25 to 35 minute break). Work for 25 minutes, and ___ (than/then) take a five-minute break. After you do this four times, take a longer break.
3. Make a Plan
Plan your week ____ (on/in/at) advance (: beforehand) so (that) you know ___ (that/what) you should ___ (are/be) doing each day. Having a plan also ____ (mean/means/meant/meaning) you can be flexible (可變通的; 靈活的). If something ___ (costs/takes/spends) longer than you expected (: anticipated/hoped), ___ (you/your) plan will help you ____ (find/finding) time to finish it (: carry it out). Your plan also helps you ____ (balance/balancing) homework with other jobs to keep your mind ____ (fresh/flesh).
4. Omit (省略; 刪除 cross out/delete; cf. eliminate 排除; 消滅; 淘汰) Non-essential Activities.
Take any unnecessary activities out of (: away from/off) your plan. Spend your time on necessary jobs instead. You can always add these other activities back in if you finish things ahead of schedule (超前進度).
