I.                    Warm up

(I)                 Steps

(1)   Find some photos which contain key words and phrases.

These key words and phrases are related to the topic of Unit 2, that is “Sports and Health.”

(2)   The key words and phrases in ten chosen photos are typed below each photo.

(3)   Categorize these key words and phrases into at least two parts.

One is “Health.”  The other is “Sports.”

Uncommon Sports Events:

(1)   卡巴迪 Kabaddi (p. 47)

(1.1)         The first Asian Games were held (: organized/thrown) in New Delhi, India (印度), 1951.

(1.2)         The games are associated with (……有關聯)

the International Olympic Committee (委員會),

and they include (: cover/contain/involve) competitors (: rivals/opponents) from Asian countries.

(1.3)         The latest (: recent) Asian Games were held (: were thrown) in Indonesia (印尼).

(2.1) The Asian Games include (: cover/contain/involve) sports not found (V-pp & Adj.: spotted) in the regular (: every four years) Olympic Games.

(2.2) For example, there are many (: a lot of) different (: various) martial arts (武術) forms (: types)(that athletes/players can compete in).

(2.6) The players must do this all in one breath (: simultaneously), and that is why

the player yells (: cries) the word kabaddi.
